E-Malt.com News article: USA: Number of breweries in the state of California reaches 700

The California Craft Brewers Association announced on June 23 that the number of breweries in the state reached 700, more than at any time in California’s history, San Jose Mercury News reported.

The number of breweries has more than doubled in just the last four years. There are more breweries in the Golden State, by a wide margin, than in any other state. Eleven of the breweries on the list of the nation’s top fifty craft breweries, as defined by the Brewers Association, are based in California.
