City officials say Green Flash Brewing Co. will open its East Coast headquarters in Virginia Beach Nov. 13, Virginian-Pilot reported on August 16.

The announcement came three years after the San Diego-based company first announced it would open a brewery in Hampton Roads. Green Flash ranks 41st among the largest craft brewers nationwide.

The 58,000-square-foot hub built at the corner of General Booth Boulevard and Corporate Landing Parkway by Virginia Beach-developer The Miller Group will have a tasting room with 30 beers on tap, a beer garden, store and private-event room.

The brewer expects to hire 40 people.

The Virginia Beach location will eventually be able to brew up to 100,000 barrels of beer annually, or about 24.8 million pints.
