The craft beer movement is making its way up to Hamilton County. Four Day Ray Brewing held an open house on Sunday, October 16 so people could get a taste, Wish-TV reported on October 17.

They said as much as they want to stand out, they also want to fit in.

“(I) can’t get enough of places like this and they’re popping up everywhere,” said Chris Moody, who attended the open house with her family. “This is great in downtown Fishers, it’s state-of-the-art everything, I can see it as being a major hangout”

The 8,200 square foot brewery and restaurant is located on Lantern Road, just north of 116th Street.

“When pair beer and a great culinary experience together, that’s just going to help bring people together,” said Brian Graham, the owner of Four Day Ray Brewing.

Graham has been brewing beer in his garage for 20 years. He broke ground on Four Day Ray in late January. Eight months later they’re open.

“The food is just a little bit different. It’s just different than what’s up here already and I think Fishers is really primed and ready for something like what we’re doing,” said Graham.

“I think it fits perfectly, kind of fits right in with all of the surroundings here and I think nice music outside I think it’s going to be really popular,” said Rob Ripma, who attended the open house with his wife.

“I’m really impressed with all the decor inside, I like that there are garage openings so they can have indoor outdoor space,” said Stephanie Ripma.

According to Visit Hamilton County, there are 12 breweries in the county with more opening relatively soon.

“All the breweries opening up on the north side (of Indianapolis) has been great. A lot more options without going all the way downtown to places. It’s been awesome,” said Rob Ripma.

At Four Day Ray they’re opening with four house brews. Their system allows them to make 15 barrels of beer at a time, far more than the 15 gallons Graham could make earlier this year.

“We might not be the biggest brewery in Indiana, but we want to be the best,” said Graham.

The Fishers City Council granted the owners a 10-year tax abatement.
