Yesterday Interbrew, the Belgian brewer, declared in a press release that it will acquire a 24% share in the China’s third-largest brewery, Zhujiang Brewery of Guangdong. This move will be made according to the Framework Agreement signed by the parties on July 10, 2002. Full details of the deal are expected in September when negotiations are finalized. Interbrew has plans for further acquisition of Zhujiang shares in conformity with Chinese legislation.
