Greenville's newest brewery has announced it will open the last weekend of the month, WITN reported on January 18.

Uptown Brewing Company on Evans Street will open on Saturday, January 28th at noon.

Staff will be serving eight beers that have been brewed on site - two IPA's, a Belgian double IPA, a wheat beer, a coffee porter and a kolsch light craft beer.

Managing partner Donald Dunn says they aim to have something for everyone.

Dunn says, "When we saw the building we could picture the brewery here and it turned out even better than what we were thinking."

The owners were able to purchase the location through a building reuse grant, which was awarded to the brewery by the Department of Commerce, and is intended for properties that have been vacant for over 30 days.

Opening day hours will be from noon to 11:00 p.m. with a grand opening will be held some time in the future.
