Catawba Brewing Company announced on December 28 it's completed the purchase of Palmetto Brewing Company out of Charleston, South Carolina.

Catawba owns breweries in Morganton, Asheville and Charlotte.

By adding Charleston, the four locations will have a combined capacity of around 50,000 barrels producing both Catawba and Palmetto brands.
