Blue Quartz Winery and Shotwell Run Brewing Company will open a new location in Madison County in a few weeks, CBS19 News reported on May 13.

The new place will have a winery and brewery in the same location.

It's a dream 10 years in the making for Chris Wallin and her co-owners.

She said she's excited they finally made their dream come true.

"I can't wait to get it up and running," said Wallin. "Out of the four of us, I'm the most anxious to get it going. I feel like we've worked hard to get to this point and we're so excited to open."

They will have wine, beer and cider available to drink.

"We're going to have three wines," said Wallin. "We have a Viognier, a Merlot, a Cabernet Franc and a cider."

Billy Faggart, one of the co-owners and the brewer for the brewery, said they will mainly have four beers on tap and they will make some more as the seasons change.

"We're looking at a pale ale, a hefeweizen, a blonde, and an English bitter, a very light summer drinking beer," said Faggart.

Wallin believes having different types of alcohol will make the location an attractive spot for people to have a drink along with a nice view.

"We're really looking to make it comfortable for beer drinkers, wine drinkers, cider drinkers, everyone who wants to come and enjoy different alcohol in a nice scenic, family-friendly place," said Wallin.

They also plan on serving food.

"We're starting off with pretzels, hummus, chips and possibly food trucks," said Wallin.

They also plan on expanding the alcohol selection in the future.

"We have someone who wants to make some mead for us and we plan on serving some mead within the next year and expanding our ciders," said Wallin.

Blue Quartz Winery and Shotwell Run Brewing Company will have some soft openings in June.

The grand opening is set for July.
