| E-Malt.com News article: USA, IL: Ravinia Brewing Company coming to Logan Square, Chicago
Another brewery and taproom is coming to Logan Square, Chicago, the Block Club Chicago reported on August 26.
Ravinia Brewing Company, a brewery that has been operating out of a Near West Side production brewery for more than a year, is taking over the old Ale Syndicate spot at 2601 W. Diversey Ave., it was announced in a press release on August 26.
The Tribune was first to report the news.
Ravinia’s new Logan Square production facility and taproom will also feature a taco bar similar to the one the founders opened in their suburban Highland Park brewpub.
Ravinia aims to start production by September and open the taproom in early 2020, according to the press release.
Beer-wise, folks can expect Ravinia favorites such as Steep Ravine IPA, Food Truck Pilsner and Flight of the Rooster Saison.
Ravinia has bounced around since its founding in 2017. The founders tried to move into the old Finch Beer Co. spot on Montrose Avenue and then tried to open in suburban Ravinia, where three of the founders live, but both plans never came to fruition, according to the Tribune.
The founders ended up opening a brewpub in suburban Highland Park while they looked for a production facility.
To commemorate the move to Logan Square, the founders are throwing an outdoor block party with neighboring restaurant Arbor from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Sept. 5 in the parking lot between Ravinia Brewing and Green Exchange.
Logan Square has become a destination for breweries and their taprooms. Hopewell Brewing, Maplewood Brewing, Pilot Project and Middle Brew Beer Co. are just a few breweries that have joined the neighborhood in recent years.
In addition to opening a new brewery and taproom in Logan Square, Ravinia’s founders are partnering with Southern Illinois University’s Fermentation Science Institute on a Carbondale brewery where students can learn brewing basics, according to the release.
