| E-Malt.com News article: USA, MA: Ground Effect Brewing Company closes down, new brewery to open at its location
Ground Effect Brewing Company in Hudson has closed but its Main Street taproom is not expected to be empty for long — a new brewery is aiming to open there in September, the MetroWest Daily News reported.
Ground Effect, at 312 Main St. (Route 62), announced on its Facebook page on June 28 it would close after Thursday, June 30 due to "unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances," that have forced it the brewery to be sold.
"We’ve made some great beers and had some fun times in those few years but it’s the friends we’ve made that mean the most to us," the brewery said on the post. "Our last day will be this Thursday, and the brewery will then be closed for renovations and improvements, the new owners are hoping to reopen sometime in September. We are looking forward to and are confident in what the new ownership has in store (great beer, great service, great times) and we hope we can all see each other again at the new brewery in September! Thank you all for your support and friendship over the last few years, we will miss you but we will see you again soon!"
Brewery manager Lindsay Monroe said the new owners, whom she did not identify, plan to retain head brewer Tim Daley.
"It's unfortunate that Ground Effect is closing, but we're very positive about the new owners and the beers coming soon," said Monroe. "It was unavoidable. It's sad. We love all of our customers."
Ground Effect was founded in 2018 by Marc Ferlo and Alexi Bobolia, opening in November of that year.
Monroe said the new owners plan to open their brewery in September if renovations are done and paperwork are completed.
"Obviously, things are going to change," she said. "It's unfortunate that Ground Effect won't be here but we're positively looking forward to this new brewery."
