Russia: Total malt production capacity of Russia will reach about 1.5 million tonnes by next year, according to analysts. Earlier this year Russia announced two more projects of malthouse constructions.

The Russian embargo on malt (and grain) from Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Netherlands continues. There is also the Russian threat to expand the embargo to the whole EU, unless a compromise – a common EU Phytosanitary Certificate – is reached by April 1.
