A staple in the Fayetteville craft beer scene is officially closing its doors after almost eight years in business on Russell Street, The Fayetteville Observer reported on September 25.

Bright Light Brewing Company at 444 W. Russell St., is ceasing operations "on or around" Oct. 25, the brewpub announced in a Facebook post last week. The post said that with the current lease expiring Oct. 31, "we have decided to move in different directions."

"For almost eight years the taproom on Russell St. has been a fun place to have a few cold ones and mingle amongst friends. We've had some great musicians play, some cool events and made alot of memories for all involved! Our staffing has always been great and we appreciate everyone who worked for BLBC," the post said.

Multiple attempts to reach the owners via phone and social media were unsuccessful

The Facebook post said that until the brewery's final day, drafts, wine and cans are $5, with a buy-one-get-one offer on cases while supplies last. It said T-shirts are on sale for $10 and glasses for $2.

"For the contents/equipment of the taproom (tables, chairs, coolers, etc.), or if interested in assuming operations in place under a different name, you may call or email contact info to brightlightbrewingco@gmail.com," the post said. "Once again, Thank you all for the good times!"

The brewery opened in April 2017 with 10 signature beers.
