Low Tide Brewing, a craft beer manufacturer, is expanding its operations in Charleston County with a $22.2 million investment that will create 33 new jobs, according to a South Carolina Department of Commerce news release.

Low Tide Brewing will expand into a 26,800-square-foot facility, located at 0 Beer Garden Way on Johns Island, which will include a state-of-the-art brewing system and event space, according to the release. The new facility will expand the company’s manufacturing operations to meet demand for its wholesale products and increase capacity for visitors.

“Low Tide Brewing is thrilled to expand our brewing operations in Charleston County. Demand for our products has grown steadily as we continue to strengthen our reputation in the community,” Low Tide Brewing Founder Mike Fielding said in the release. “We are excited to expand our capabilities so we can support our community even more while producing plenty of tasty brews.”

Founded on Johns Island in 2016, Low Tide Brewing produces award-winning craft beers from quality ingredients, the release stated. The company’s brewery and taproom also offer a variety of one-of-a-kind experiences for the community, the release stated.

“Low Tide Brewing is a homegrown success story that perfectly exemplifies the innovative spirit that drives our local economy, and we’re thrilled to see them growing their operations,” Charleston County Council Chairman Herbert Ravenel Sass III said in the release. “These 33 new jobs and expanded visitor experiences are a win not just for Johns Island but for the entire county.”

“Low Tide Brewing’s decision to expand in Charleston County underscores the thriving business environment we’ve built here,” Charleston County Economic Development Executive Director Steve Dykes said in the release. “By choosing to grow on Johns Island, Low Tide Brewing not only strengthens its commitment to our community but also enhances the area’s appeal as a vibrant destination for locals and visitors alike. Charleston County Economic Development is proud to support their continued success, and we look forward to seeing the impact of their new facility.”
