| E-Malt.com News article: Australia: Coopers Brewery to open an Alehouse at new airport terminal
South Australia’s beer maker, Coopers Brewery announced on April 27, it will be featured at Adelaide’s new $260 million airport terminal when it opens in October this year. Coopers Marketing Director and Chairman, Mr Glenn Cooper, said that following an agreement with Australian airport caterer Delaware North Companies Australia, a Coopers Alehouse would be opened within the 3000 square metre retail mall at the airport.
Approval had also been given to open a Coopers General Store. “As a South Australian icon, we felt it was important for Coopers Brewery to have a high profile within the airport, which is expected to attract about five million passengers a year,” he said.
“The Coopers Alehouse will be similar in style to other Coopers-themed outlets in Adelaide with special glasses and pouring fonts designed to showcase the unique properties of our beers. “As the gateway to Adelaide, we think it is very important that the airport provide interstate and overseas visitors with a true taste of what South Australia has to offer. “Coopers is the largest family-owned brewery in Australia and has been part of South Australia for more than 120 years.”
Mr Cooper said the new Coopers General Store would be the second in Adelaide (the other is in East Terrace in the city) and would sell a full range of Coopers merchandise and equipment, including home brew concentrates and kits, clothing and accessories.
It would also provide details about the Coopers Club, one of the largest beer clubs in Australia with more than 21,000 members scattered across Australia and overseas.
