E-Malt.com News article: USA: Barley stocks total 2.81 million metric tonnes

Barley stocks in all positions on June 1, 2005 totaled 129 million bushels (2.81 million metric tonnes), up 7% from June 1, 2004, according to the USDA's latest stocks in all positions estimates for the United States.

On-farm stocks are estimated at 41.1 million bushels (895 thousand metric tonnes), 45% above a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 87.6 million bushels (1.91 million metic tonnes), are 5% below June 1, 2004.


The March - May 2005 indicated disappearance is 62.0 million bushels, 90% above the same period a year earlier.
