| E-Malt.com News article: USA: Pyramid official beer of Rose Garden
Pyramid Breweries, Inc. announced on September 15 it has teamed up with Global Spectrum to become the preferred craft beer partner at the Rose Quarter, which includes the 20,000-seat Rose Garden and the 12,000-seat Memorial Coliseum. The multi-year sponsorship agreement calls for branded kiosks and signage throughout the Rose Garden, which is home to the NBA Portland Trail Blazers and the NLL Portland LumberJax.
Since merging with Portland Brewing in mid-2004, Pyramid Breweries has continued to expand their commitment to the local community. One example is in the brewery's expanding role as official sponsors of both University of Oregon and Oregon State University athletics. The effort has also included integrating Mac's into their family of beers and moving their primary production facility to the Northwest Portland brewery location.
"It has been our plan since the merger to continue the leadership position established by Portland Brewing and make additional investments to solidify our commitment to the greater Portland market," said John Lennon, CEO. "We are really looking forward to introducing more consumers to our unique American style wheat beers. Once you have tasted our two gold medal winning flagship brands -- Pyramid Hefe Weizen and Mac's Ale -- you may never drink regular beer again."
"Global Spectrum is excited to enter into a partnership with Pyramid Breweries, as we add their quality products at the Rose Quarter," said Global Spectrum's Mike Scanlon, General Manager at the Rose Quarter. "With a busy concert schedule and the addition of the Portland LumberJax, there will be many opportunities for Portland to enjoy Pyramid's first-class brands during an event this season."
