As speculations heat up on which companies may bid for the Austrian brewer BBAG, fears that Interbrew will follow its old habits of overpaying for acquisitions have sent Interbrew's shares tumbling by five per cent to slightly above EUR 18. Interbrew has not yet said whether or not it intends to bid for BBAG.
