The Polish government might temper its law on beer advertising this week. A Polish parliamentary committee has recommended that beer advertisements could be broadcast on radio and TV in prime time, according to a statement by the parliament's press office.

The amendment, which is expected to be approved by the lower house of parliament during the next few weeks, would allow beer to be advertised from 8.00pm. At present, beer ads are only allowed from 11.00pm onwards. However, the committee rejected a bid to permit outdoor poster advertising of beer and low-strength spirits.
