Miller of Dallas announced the acquisition of Willow Distributors, a deal that makes the newly named company, Andrews Distributors of North Texas, one of the nation's biggest beer distributors. The company will own approximately 57 percent of the beer market in a six-county North Texas area, including Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, Ellis, Hunt and Kaufman counties. It combines Miller and Coors, a trend that has been occurring across the country.
Barry Andrews, president and CEO of the company, said the new company would be able to provide better and more efficient service to retailer customers such as restaurants, hotels, stadiums, clubs and other consumer outlets.
"This acquisition means two great companies will now be in one house, with one focus and 110 brands in one of the leading markets in the US," said Andrews. “Our goal will be to deliver superior customer service through innovative sales and delivery structures.” The combination of the two Dallas-based wholesalers gives Andrews Distributing of North Texas dominance in the market categories of import, specialty, low calorie and below-premium beers.
