HP Bulmer, the British brewer and cider maker, is selling GBP 6.1m worth of land at one of its Hereford plants to a housebuilder in order to ease debt. Moreover, it is reportedly planning to sell its wholesale arm, The Beer Seller, in a management buyout deal, The Publican reported in a statement. Bulmer bought The Beer Seller in 2000 for GBP 32m. The company is to cut 200 of its 300 products as well as 200 jobs, and will focus entirely on its beer and cider brands.
