North Yorkshire's Wensleydale Brewery has bought its first pub lease, a move that takes the company back to its roots in the Dales village of Wensley, The Morning Advertiser posted June 19.
The Three Horseshoes has been acquired on a free of tie lease from the nearby Bolton country estate. Brewery boss Richard Thompson plans to open the pub on 1 July after a small refurbishment programme. It will supply all Wensleydalešs beers plus guest ales from selected micros in Yorkshire and the north east.
Thompson said the new pub which will be a flagship outlet for his beers.
"When we knew the lease of the pub was available we jumped at the chance to take it and we are very excited about the possibilities it will bring to the business," he said.
