An application for an air permit for International Malting Co.'s proposed Great Falls malt plant received preliminary approval from the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, From Tribune reported. The draft permit proposes to allow all barley malt manufacturing processes, including, but not limited to, material handling operations, germination processes, and natural gas-fired kiln operations.
