In U.K. barley planting is done in England and well advanced in Scotland. Spring barley acres will reach 620 thousand ha against 550 thousand ha last year. As per DEFRA’s December census winter barley plantings had shown a drop from 565 thousand ha to 483 thousand ha (- 14,5 %), in England alone even 16,1 %.
