Anheuser-Busch said September 14 that Joseph Couceiro has been named Vice-President of marketing division (vp-marketing) for Busch Entertainment Corp., the company’s nine-venue theme-park subsidiary. He succeeds Robin Carson, who has been named executive vice president and managing director at Anheuser-Busch’s Kingsmill Resort and Spa in Williamsburg, Virginia, Brandweek released September 15.
Couceiro had been vp-marketing at Busch Entertainment’s four Florida parks. He will now also assume those responsibilities for the other five parks. Couceiro, who is based in Orlando, will oversee marketing duties for: SeaWorld parks in Orlando, San Diego and San Antonio; Busch Gardens parks in Tampa and Williamsburg, Virginia; Discovery Cove in Orlando; Adventure Island in Tampa; Water Country USA in Williamsburg; and Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia.
Busch operates four of the nation’s 25 busiest North America theme parks, based on 2005 attendance estimates by Amusement Business magazine: SeaWorld, Orlando, 5.6 million customers in 2005 (No. 9); Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay, 4.3 million (No. 12); SeaWorld, San Diego, 4.1 million (No. 13); and Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, 2.6 million (No. 24).
