Coors Brewing Company, Manhattan Beer Distributors and New York Road Runners announced that, for the third consecutive year, Coors Light will be the official beer of the ING New York City Marathon 2007, according to Business Wire, October 31. Coors Light will be refreshing adult race participants and fans at post-race parties across Manhattan.

"As the World's Most Refreshing Beer, Coors Light is uniquely positioned to refresh runners and spectators alike at the ING New York City Marathon 2007," said Ryan Luckey, field marketing director for Coors Brewing Company. "Coors Light is the number one light beer sold in the New York City area, and we're proud to continue our relationship with one of the city's most prestigious and well-known events."

Coors Light will sponsor parties throughout the New York City metro area and will also be providing product to all the hospitality events leading up to the race. Once again, Coors Light has developed unique ING New York City Marathon graphics for its 18-pack. The cans and packaging, available in participating retail locations throughout the New York metropolitan area, feature the official logo of the ING New York City Marathon.

Considered to be the one of the greatest road races in the world, more than 100,000 runners apply annually to be a part of the ING New York City Marathon, the premier event of the New York Road Runners. In 2006, the ING New York City Marathon became the largest marathon of all time, with almost 38,000 finishers, more than 2 million course spectators and 300 million TV viewers worldwide.
