Scottish & Newcastle, Heineken, Interbrew and Anheuser-Busch are all interested in the purchase of the Czech brewer Budejovicky Budvar, the Czech press has reported following the news that the Czech government may be willing to sell the brewer Budejovicky Budvar.

According to the reports Budejovicky Budvar will be transformed into a joint-stock company in 2004. The value of company's trademark is evaluated by analysts at around 10 billion crowns (US$ 500 million) while its book value at 3.5 billion Czech crowns (US$128m), the press reported.
