Cobra Indian Beer announced its collaboration with Maharashtra-based brewery Mohan Rocky Springwater Breweries, according to Business Standard, March 11.

Under the agreement, Mohan Rocky will brew Cobra under licence at its facility in Khopoli (Raigadh district) for distribution in Maharashtra.

"Maharashtra is a key market for us, and we were on the lookout for a local brewery that can enable us to provide consumers with a truly international, super premium beer at affordable prices. In Mohan Rocky, we have found the right partner that matched our quality standards," said Poonam Chandel, chief operating officer, Cobra Indian Beer.

As part of the agreement, Cobra Beer will deploy its technical expertise at the brewery for continuous supervision to meet quality standards, a company release said.

Cobra is brewed at six locations across India - Mount Shivalik in Rajasthan, Impala Breweries in Goa, Mikal in Orissa, Iceberg in Bihar, Som in Madhya Pradesh and Manav Breweries in Uttar Pradesh. The current capacity is 600,000 cases per month. The company is targeting a turnover of three million cases by the end of this financial year.
