Outside Magazine has named Alaskan Brewing Company as one of America's best places to work, Fort Mill Times published April 17.

The craft brewery in Juneau was honored for employee benefits and environmental stewardship, and ranked fifth in the medium companies group.

Linda Thomas, general manager of Alaskan Brewing, says a key part of the company's mission statement is to have fun growing, both individually and as a company.

The selection was made after the magazine conducted extensive surveys, including ones on benefits, compensation, job satisfaction and environmental initiatives.

Alaskan Brewing donates 1 percent of proceeds from Alaskan IPA sales to helping clean up the Pacific coast.
