Brewery news

Steve Perez, former managing director of Global Brands, has stepped down to oversee the long term strategy of the company as chairman, the Morning Advertiser posted on October, 3.

Sales director Mark James will now take over as managing director and Derek Mackey will take his place after joining from Heineken, the company said.

According to the company, a review of its portfolio will see Tsingtao, Salitos, Viru and Carib phased out and be replaced by Estonian beer Saku Kuld, Bulgarian beer Zagorka Special and Belgian beer Peerderburg Blond.

Justin Horsman will take on the role of trade marketing manager following the recent acquisition of Fullback Imports, which had been owned by Horsman and his partner Neil Robinson.

“This new structure reflects a number of significant changes within our business over the last twelve months," said Perez.

"As we continue to shake up our portfolio and grow the business it’s important that we take a longer-term view of our operation and make decisions based on our future growth."
