Brewery news

Germany’s biggest newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung compared the evolution of prices since 1950 between beer and petrol, AGI reported on October, 3.

According to the newspaper’s research, while a litre of fuel for a car suffered from an increase of 346 percent, that of a mug of blonde lager went up even more, hitting the outrageous level of 854 percent.

During the Oktoberfest of 1950 a ‘Mass’ cost 1.70 marks, equal to 87 eurocents, while this year someone wanting to refresh themselves with the same quantity of beer had to pay out 8.30 euros.

In 1950 a litre of petrol cost the equivalent of 32.4 eurocents; currently the price is 1.44 euros at the pomp, it was found out.

The difference in the price of one litre of beer and that of one litre of petrol was 0.546 euros in 1950. Today the distance has increased to 6.854 euros.
