Brewery news

Anheuser-Busch InBev’s US subsidiary is supporting the efforts of Keep America Beautiful with an incentive to buy - and then recycle - Budweiser beer cans, In-Store Marketing Institute posted earlier this month.

The beer maker uses April's designation as "Earth Month" to tout its own activity recycling cans of Budweiser, Bud Light, Bud Light Lime and Budweiser Select, and encouraging consumers do the same.

Case cards, window clings and other promotional signage emphasize AB InBev's alliance with litter prevention organization Keep America Beautiful and boast that, "We recycle 5 cans for every 4 we package."

A corresponding stock-up offer dangles rebates of $5 on the purchase of a 12-pack or two six-packs, $7 on an 18-pack, $8 on a 24-pack and $9 on a 30-pack. Valid in 36 states and Washington, DC, the offer runs April 1 to May 3. Signs carrying mail-in rebate forms are affixed to case stacks in stores.

A founding partner of Keep America Beautiful, the brewer also co-sponsors a program that awards grants to fund recycling and litter prevention efforts conducted by the organization's affiliates and its own wholesalers.
