The Danish brewing force Carlsberg Breweries A/S announced on October 24 that Claudio Riva has been appointed Managing Director for Carlsberg Italia Spa with effect from 1 November 2003. He comes from a position as Sales Director in Italy of Parmalat, which is Italy's largest fast moving consumer goods group, with activities in dairy, beverage and bakery products. Marcello Verratti who has been Managing Director of Carlsberg Italia since 1990 continues as working member of the board with operational responsibility for the company's direct distribution channel.
