E-Malt.com News article: Colombia: SABMiller appoints new president for its Colombian operations
Brewery news

SABMiller plc, the world’s second-largest brewer, announced on December, 6 that Richard Rushton, the current President of its Central American operations, has been appointed as President of Bavaria SA in Colombia.

Rushton replaces the current President, Karl Lippert, who was recently appointed to succeed Barry Smith as President of SABMiller's Latin American division. Rushton will take over on 1 January 2011 and will report to the President of SABMiller Latin America.

As a consequence of this appointment, the position of President for Central America will be eliminated, and the Presidents of the SABMiller operations in Ecuador, Panama, El Salvador and Honduras will therefore report directly to the President for SABMiller Latin America as of 1 January 2011.

SABMiller plc has brewing interests and distribution agreements across six continents. The group's wide portfolio of brands includes premium international beers such as Pilsner Urquell, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Miller Genuine Draft and Grolsch, as well as leading local brands such as Aguila, Castle, Miller Lite, Snow and Tyskie.

In the year ended 31 March 2010, the group reported US$3,803 million adjusted pre-tax profit and group revenue of US$26,350 million. SABMiller plc is listed on the London and Johannesburg stock exchanges.
