E-Malt.com News article: US, OH: Thirsty Dog Grille and Brewery seeking to locate in Stow
Brewery news

The Akron-based Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. is not seeking to locate in Stow, as it was incorrectly reported on June, 7. Instead, it is a sound-alike restaurant, the Thirsty Dog Grille and Brewery — a separate business with different owners — that is gathering signatures, StowPatch reports.

Pam Lauter is collecting signatures for a petition to obtain a liquor license for a business to be named the Thirsty Dog Grille and Brewery. The first step is voter approval. Lauter said she needs about 200 signatures from residents of Ward 4, Precinct A to get on the ballot.

The owners plan a full-service bar and grill at 1063 Graham Rd. where Bob's Big Boy once operated.

John Najeway, co-owner of Akron-based Thirsty Dog Brewing Co., said that the owners have asked Thirsty Dog Grill and Brewery to stop using their name, which Najeway says too closely resembles his business's name.

The Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. does not have a brewpub, but does have a tasting room at its 529 Grant St. location in Akron. Patrons can bring their own food while tasting the different brews available at Thirsty Dog Brewing Co., he said.
