Brewery news

Doug Warren, brewmaster at The Old Stone Brewpub & Restaurant, has announced the impending release of a seasonal wet hop beer, Canadian Beer News reported on September, 10.

Tentatively labelled Houblon Nouveau, the flowers were grown at Jay Schiller’s half-acre hopyard just south of town. About 1.5 kg of Zeus and 3 kg of Chinook were picked on Friday 2 September and were in the kettle within 16 hours. There will be around 650 litres of 4.9% abv ale available only on draught, only at the pub.

The first keg of Houblon Nouveau will be tapped on Friday September 16th, and it will remain available while quantities last.
