E-Malt.com News article: Canada, AB: Big Rock Brewery Inc. announces quarterly dividend
Brewery news

A dividend of C$0.20 per common share will be paid on October 17, 2011 to shareholders of record on September 30, 2010, Big Rock Brewery Inc. announced on September, 21.

The quarterly dividend announcement comes as Big Rock wraps up another bustling summer season, typically one of the busiest times for the industry, and gets ready for an exciting fall. Big Rock Brewery released its first brew out of the newly formed Brewmaster's Series this summer, Magpie Rye Ale, and is now preparing to unveil its second release, Scottish Style Heavy Ale. The seasonal program has reinstated Big Rock's commitment to hand crafting specialty brews using traditional methods.

This is the third dividend declared by Big Rock following its conversion from an income trust to a corporation earlier this year. Dividends are paid from after tax cash flows, whereas distributions by the trust were paid from operating cash flows and were deductible for tax purposes prior to its conversion. The decrease in the dividend levels compared to 2010 is directly attributable to this change in taxation.
