E-Malt.com News article: USA, ME: Baxter Brewing Company releases Amber Road
Brewery news

Amber Road, the eagerly anticipated third style of beer from Baxter Brewing Company, is in the can, local media reported on November, 1.

“One of the most frequent questions I’ve gotten, almost from the beginning,” says Luke Livingston, founder and president of the upstart craft brewery which has become known for packaging unusual and popular beer exclusively in cans and kegs, “has been ‘I love your beer. When will the next one come out?’ Well, it’s here,” he added.

Amber Road joins Baxter’s flagship styles Pamola Xtra Pale Ale and Stowaway IPA, which have been distributed throughout Maine since January, 2011, and which have recently begun shipping to Greater Boston, as well.

“Amber Road is already on tap in our tasting room,” Livingston said, “and it’s also available in our shop by the six pack. It will be shipped everywhere in Maine beginning November 1, but it may take a little while to find its way to all corners of the state.”

Amber Road amber ale will be available exclusively in the state of Maine for the remainder of 2011, while the Boston will get its first shipment of Amber Road after the first of the year. “We’ve been thrilled with the positive reception our beer has received in the Boston area,” Livingston explained, “and we’re trying hard to keep them supplied with Pamola and Stowaway, at the moment.”

Less than a year old, Baxter Brewing has quickly exceeded its initial expectations, virtually doubling its production capacity in its first six months. The brewery is on track to produce 5,000 barrels (the equivalent of more than 68,000 cases) in its first year.
