Brewery news

Carlsberg has invested over EUR 165 mln in Serbia since 2003, and the company plans to maintain the same rate of investment in 2012, Carlsberg Serbia director was quoted as saying by BNE on February, 13.

Carlsberg has mostly invested in enlarging production capacities, logistics and developing new brand names and expanding sales networks, and this will continue in 2012.

Carlsberg Serbia exports 19% of its total production to neighbouring countries, but also markets some of its products in France, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Israel and Australia, with plans to expand to new markets.

The Serbian beer market shrunk by 8% in 2011 on the year, due to the economic crisis, Carlsberg said.
