E-Malt.com News article: USA, AZ: Desert Eagle Brewery opens in Mesa
Brewery news

It's a couple of months later than originally planned, but Mesa's first brewery - at least in modern times - is ready for business, azcentral.com reported on October, 1.

Desert Eagle Brewery plans its grand opening on October, 5.

Joe Campbell, who is opening the brewery with partner Jeff Bryant, said the opening, originally planned for July, was delayed because the state Health Department had no experience with brewery-only operations. Arizona's other breweries also serve food.

"We're in the process of brewing right now," Campbell said.

Opening night will feature at least four beers - Red Mountain Ale, Golden Eagle Wheat, an imperial Indian pale ale and a Russian imperial stout. Eventually, the tap room will offer a dozen varieties.

Desert Eagle will offer a tasting room and sell its products in the form of half-gallon growlers.

Campbell believes his brewery will be an attraction in its own right that will bring customers to other downtown businesses, even as light-rail construction looms over the next couple of years.

"I think we're all going to feed off one another," he said.
