E-Malt.com News article: USA, MN: Summit Brewing Company to release Meridian Session Ale as first beer in its new Union Series
Brewery news

Summit Brewing Company announced on April, 9 the launch of the new limited release Union Series, beginning with Meridian Session Ale the week of April, 15.

The Union Series will focus on brewing with new raw materials and ingredients, exploring the latest malts and hops in the industry. Meridian Session Ale will be the first beer to feature Summit’s new packaging and logo.

Meridian Session Ale is Belgian-style session ale, roughly in the Enkel (single) tradition.

The Union Series will be limited in scale and will rely heavily on the availability of new ingredients. As a result, there will not be a set schedule for Union Series releases.

Founded in St. Paul, Minn. in 1986, Summit Brewing Company has stayed close to its roots, serving the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes region. Summit’s beers are currently available in 17 states including Minnesota, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin. Summit now produces 12 varieties of premium craft beer, including seven year-round, four seasonal beers, and the limited release Unchained and Union Series.
