E-Malt.com News article: USA, PA: Earth Bread + Brewery to open Bar Hygge brewpub in Philadelphia

Tom Baker and Peggy Zwerver of Mount Airy's Earth Bread + Brewery are planning to open a brewpub in the new 1720 Fairmount, a mixed-use building near the intersection of Francisville, Fairmount and Spring Garden in Philadelphia, Philly.com blog reported on May 19.

Baker says the pub's name will be Bar Hygge - pronounced "hYOO-guh" and taken from a Danish expression roughly translated as "cozy camaraderie."

The brewery will be branded separately as Brewery Techne (say it "TECH-nee").

Baker plans to shuttle between Mount Airy and the new place to handle the brewing for the first year.

The opening is scheduled roughly for October.
