Cajun Brewing will close its doors at the end of August after a two-year run in Lafayette, The Daily Advertiser reported on August 7.

The announcement came on August 7 via the company's Facebook page:

"Virtually everyone can relate to a time in their life when they faced a tough decision, that time at Cajun Brewing is now," the post said. "Because of certain circumstances beyond our control, we regretfully announce the closure of Cajun Brewing, Lafayette’s first manufacturing brewery."

Cajun Brewing opened its taproom to the public in September 2016, joining the Acadiana craft beer scene alongside existing operations Parish Brewing in Broussard and Bayou Teche Brewing in Arnaudville.

The brewery's flagship beer, Cajun Wit, was available in dozens of bars and restaurants in south Louisiana. The wheat-based ale had a 5.2 percent alcohol by volume with a medium-light body and a dry finish and citrus and coriander aromatics.

"This fantastic journey into the craft industry wouldn’t have been possible without you, our truly amazing customers," the brewery management wrote on Facebook. "We can’t thank everyone enough for their patronages to our brewery and the many festivals attended throughout the years."

Cajun Brewing's facility and tasting room at 206 Rayburn St. will remain open to the public through the end of August. Beer and other inventory will be available for purchase until the brewery closes.

"We give a truly warm and appreciative thank you to all our wonderful customers," the Facebook post concluded. "Thank you for being there for us."
