Russian beer consumption is growing into a health problem. Russia might be famous for its vodka, but beer is becoming increasingly popular, so much that health officials now see it as a growing health problem. NPR's Lawrence Sheets says many Russians see beer as a kind of "soft drink." That leads to excessive consumption, and it's not unusual to see young teenagers drinking beer on the street.
