Granite City Food & Brewery Ltd. announced on August16 that it plans to open a Granite City Food & Brewery in the Minneapolis/St. Paul suburb of Roseville, Minnesota in the later half of 2006.

"We are very excited with this premier location in a great market," said Steve Wagenheim, Granite City Food & Brewery's President and CEO. "We are happy to be a part of the expansion of Rosedale and we plan to continue securing high volume locations in and around the Twin Cities."

The company opened a Granite City Food & Brewery in Wichita in July and has announced plans to open a restaurant in Eagan, Minnesota in September, as well as restaurants in two Kansas City locations later this year. Wagenheim said the company's developer is currently negotiating on additional sites in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Minnesota for continued expansion under its 4-6-8 plan for opening restaurants in the Midwest through 2007. Granite City Food & Brewery Ltd. currently operates nine Granite City Food & Brewery casual dining restaurants featuring made-from-scratch food and handcrafted beers.
