Ed McNally, Chairman of Big Rock Brewery Ltd announced on September 9 the appointment of Ken Barbet as the new President of Big Rock effective October 1, 2005. Mr. Barbet is the former President and CEO of the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation. Mr. Barbet replaces Bob King who has served as Big Rock's President for the past six years.

Mr. Barbet has an extensive career in sales and marketing in the food, pharmaceutical and liquor industries. He has indicated that his primary goal is to "...provide leadership that will continue to profitably grow Big Rock's business and to enhance unitholder value..." He also noted that "Big Rock is an innovative company with a culture and attributes that differentiate it from the major brewers."

The retiring President, Bob King, will remain with Big Rock in an advisory and consulting capacity. Upon retiring as President, Mr. King indicated that Big Rock had achieved its objective during his tenure "...of attaining significant profitable growth by attracting new customers and successfully adapting to changing market conditions".

Big Rock is a regional producer and marketer of premium quality beers, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Big Rock's products are available in draught, bottles and cans. The company also produces or distributes Cider and Cooler products. Big Rock products are marketed in five provinces and three territories in Canada and in the western United States
